Google Fiber
Google Fiber was Google’s initiative to bring super high speed internet to homes at a time when the service was not a widely available option in most places in the U.S. To make the project cost effective, Google needed a majority of interested homes within a housing community to sign up for the service. The first version of the Google Fiber site showed sign up progress and encouraged the communities to compete for the service.
